Our history
In 1934 Giovanni Rigo moves from S. Ambrogio di Valpolicella (locality of the Verona region famous for both the quality of it’s wine and for the stone manufacturing sector) to Milan where he undertakes the job of chisler and monumental mason. In 1948 he and his sons establish, in Milan, via Giovenale n. 3, the marble and granite workroom named Sergio Rigo, bound to become fundamental for the production and trade of stony material. It is at this point that constuction companys, craftsmen, designers and architects gladly become regular frequenters of the workshop sure to be served with the expertise and professionalisim they seeked.
In the period of the economic boom, the company expands further and increasingly gains importance in the industrial reality of Milan and it’s province. The workshop reaches an overall area of 3,900 square metres, a considerable surface given it’s downtown location. The 80’s mark one of the Company’s fundamental’s expansion period, not only in the domestic market, but also in the foreign market, with the opening of branches in Libia and Saudi Arabia and the establishment of marble depots in Carrara and Verona. In the year 2000 The Rigo Marmi and Mosaics Company is established, a company focused on meeting the needs of a clientele who seeks an all- in world with the provision of a, turnkey, supply and laying of the stone, glass mosaic and marble material. Despite the generation turnovers, the company’s motto has always been perfectly summed up by the statement : “ not suppliers but our client’s collaborators” which is evidence of a trust based business relation that Rigo Marmi has with it’s clients; something rarely found even in other fields of business.
Light and Light
Marble, a friendly material for who, like Us, has chosen to work it applying the most innovative technologies. We have accepted the challenge of lightening the stone, making it suitable to carry out tasks ,till now, judged impossible. These features, which drastically decrease the marble’s weight , also have a dramatic effect on transportation. Less weight means saving energy during shipping and the transportation of goods (an equal load in weight, allows three times as much surface to be carried). Our technologies have enabled us to curve the stone previously carved and made semi-transparent, and in some cases make it resounding by means of particular applications which turn the stone panels into functional harmonic propagators. All this to increase the artistic and expressive capacity of a material used in ages by Mankind. We have succeeded in this feat, it’s up to You now to put us to the test.
Our technical offices are at Your disposal to illustrate all we are able to accomplish.
You will also find that all of our production is processed according to the dictates of the made in Italy philosophy.

Technical guidance
In a market where the globalization of stone products is more and more evident, expert technical guidance becomes an increasingly important service that specialized companies offer those clients who choose to employ marble, stone or granite.
Now it is possible to choose material from anywhere on the planet, however not always what might meet our aesthetic needs also proves to be technically appropriate for the chosen employment. Specialized companies must inform the client on the advantages and disadvantages of the chosen material. Rigo marmi's goal is not a simple business transaction, it's making sure that the material chosen by the client is the outcome of due consideration. Thus it is fundamental to keep in mind that all marbles, stones granites and onyx have peculiar characteristics and reactions to processing, polishing, adhesive and mortar
Design
The planning phase is fundamental in the production of quality manufactured articles especially in case of pigeonhole processing. Like a rough diamond, without careful study, due consideration and expert processing, most of the quarry stone, does not reveal it's intrinsic qualities. Basically, all the material that nature gives us is stunning, so processing it correctly is fundamental; this can only be done after a careful, in advance, study of the best composition of both the slabs and of the environments that will host them. Rigo marmi's qualified pool of architects, using the the latest technologies and planning techniques
(scanning of the material, the realization of rendering and processing of blueprints in auto cad ),
realizes executive shoopdrawings.
Stone cutting and processing
Rigo marmi employs the most modern stone processing techniques like numerical control stone cutting machinery and robots. However, no matter how many innovative technologies can be introduced, the marble industry will never become totally automatized, the craftsmanship and skill of the marble artisans will always make the difference between a marble company and the other.
Pre-assemblage and installation
For Rigo marmi this is the most important and delicate phase of processing. Traveling worldwide to install our products means we put great competence, skill and accuracy in the pre-assemblage phase as well. For the installation phase we employ our workers (specialized marble layers) in order to insure our clients a top quality environment designed to last. Lastly, the legal and fiscal aspects should not be underestimated. Rigo marmi strictly respects rules and regulations regarding worker's and job site safety, quality and employee certification and national insurance.
